About Games For Life

How it all started

Ian a former teacher, lecturer and research assistant having completed a M.Sc. in Cognitive Neuroscience and his partner Zara (mum of 3 children; B.Sc. Hons; PGCE) a teacher with a background in health psychology and education are the founders of Games for Life.

Games for life developed as a result of their own research seeking a solution to their own daughter’s attention difficulties, which had negatively impacted upon her school and home life. “Much like many parents I went searching Google to try and find out why my daughter wouldn’t listen and seemed to struggle maintaining concentration. By this point we had her hearing and eyesight tested both of which revealed no problems, I believe in a last minute desperate attempt I put into the search “why won’t my daughter pay attention to me?”– what I found was Play Attention” Zara stated.

Having seen firsthand the progress for their daughter and other clients that they helped following the utilisation of the Play Attention Edufeedback system, Zara & Ian invested from their personal savings to ensure this product could be accessed by all.  Games for Life was launched as a not-for-profit Community Interest Company who are proud to present Play Attention to the UK and EU.

Our Mission

Our mission is simple… to provide you with the best and most advanced way to help with attention related difficulties, alternative to medication and any help and advice we can give you to help you in your search for answers.

How does Play Attention work?
Scientific research has demonstrated that the brain is adaptable and capable of learning through-out life. This is termed neuroplasticity. Play Attention allows the user to view the attentive state in real time. Over time, through deliberate practice, Play Attention students can learn to increase focus and concentration. Deliberate practice entails setting goals to improve skill performance. The interactive exercises also challenge Play Attention students to improve memory, finishing tasks, visual tracking, and filtering out distractions. Gradually, the student can retain the skills necessary to be successful in the classroom, work, and home.
